The story
The assignment to move Audrey through a ruined landscape tests the distance Kieran keeps from his work. Attackers and the undead make the route dangerous, while Lucas's betrayal undermines the trust behind the job. Claire's arrival adds competing feelings to a journey where personal attachment can no longer be kept apart from survival.
